You open a page in portierX and a message appears instead of the page. That happens when your role does not allow the page, when the address or the record does not exist, when a page stops working, when your session has ended or when portierX is being maintained. Each error page names the reason in its heading and offers a way back, the same for every role.
Also called: error message, access denied, 403, 404, page not available.
The page shows You don't have access to this page with the line "Ask your administrator for permission."
Cause: your role in this organisation does not include the page. Which entries and buttons a role has is on What your role lets you see and do, the full list on Roles and permissions.
Check: click your name at the end of the sidebar. The menu shows the organisation you are working in and your role there. Your role can differ in another organisation, see Work in several organisations with one login.
Fix: Go to Dashboard takes you to your start page. For the Individual role it reads Go to Access Credentials and leads to your own keys. Go Back returns to the previous page. If your work needs the page, ask your Organisation Admin. Only the Organisation Admin changes roles.
The page shows Page not found with the line "The link may be wrong, or the page no longer exists."
Cause: the address does not exist in portierX. Most often a link is out of date or was cut short when copied.
Check: compare the address with the link you were given.
Fix: Go to Dashboard takes you to your start page, Go Back to the previous page. From there, the sidebar takes you to the page you want.
When you open a person, a key, a space, an access point or an integration that no longer exists, the page names the record and adds "It may have been deleted, or the link is wrong."
Record | Heading | Button |
|---|---|---|
Person | Person not found | Back to People |
Key or card | Key not found | Back to Access Credentials |
Space | Space not found | Back to Spaces |
Access point | Access Point not found | Back to Access Points |
Integration | Integration not found | Back to Integrations |
Cause: the record was deleted, or the link leads to a record that does not exist.
Check: if someone sent you the link, check in the user menu that you are working in the organisation the record belongs to.
Fix: the button takes you to the list. Look for the record there.
A page, a tab or a section shows Something didn't load with "Try again. If it keeps failing, contact support." A selection list shows Couldn't load this list.
Cause: portierX did not receive the data for that part, most often because of a short break in the connection.
Check: check your internet connection.
Fix: click Try Again. If it keeps failing, support helps, see Get help, report a problem or suggest an improvement.
Instead of the page, Something went wrong appears with "This page stopped working. Reload it, or go back to the dashboard."
Cause: an error occurred while the page was being built.
Fix: click Reload Page. If that does not help, the link Go to Dashboard takes you to your start page. If the error comes back on the same page, report it from the help menu, see Get help, report a problem or suggest an improvement.
The page shows Your session has ended with the line "Sign in again to continue."
Cause: your sign-in is no longer valid. In daily work portierX renews the session on its own and opens the sign-in page when it cannot.
Fix: click Sign In and sign in again, see Sign in and reset your password.
The page shows portierX is down for maintenance and asks you to try again in a few minutes.
Cause: portier is maintaining portierX, and the application is out of reach for a short time.
Fix: wait a few minutes, then click Try Again.
Open pages from the sidebar and the links inside portierX rather than from saved addresses.
If you work in several organisations, choose the right organisation before you open a link someone sent you.
Go Back appears only when the browser has a previous page. On Something went wrong and on a missing record, the way to the dashboard or to the list takes its place.
