Signing in works the same for every role. It starts on the page Sign in to portierX with your work email, and then you sign in with your password or with your company's account (single sign-on).
Also called: log in, login, SSO, company account.
An Organisation Admin has added you to your organisation. How the first day runs is on Your first day in portierX.
Open portierX in your browser. The page Sign in to portierX appears.
Under Work email, type your address and click Continue. portierX checks whether your organisation has set up sign-in with a company account for this address.
With a password: under Password, type your password and click Sign in. Show password in the field shows what you typed.
With a company account: click Sign in with and the provider's name. portierX takes you to your company's sign-in page and back again once you have signed in there.
Choose the organisation you work in. The choice is described on Work in several organisations with one login.
If the address is wrong, Change in the row with the address takes you back to the first step. If your organisation requires sign-in with the company account, no password field appears; the page shows Your organisation requires SSO sign-in. instead. With Caps Lock on, Caps Lock is on appears at the password field.
When signing in with a password fails, the page shows one of these messages.
Message | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
We couldn't sign you in | The email or the password is wrong. | Type the password again, or choose Forgot your password?. |
Your account is temporarily locked | Too many failed attempts in a row. | Wait a few minutes, or choose Reset your password. |
Slow down | Too many attempts in a short time. | Wait a moment, then sign in again. |
Email not verified | The address has not been confirmed for this account. | Open the verification link in your inbox. |
Account disabled | Your account is switched off. | Ask your Organisation Admin. |
No organisation found | Your account belongs to no organisation. | Ask your Organisation Admin to add you, or check your inbox for an invitation. |
Can't reach the sign-in server | The browser cannot reach portierX. | Check your internet connection and try again. |
Something went wrong | An unexpected error. | Try again. If it persists, support helps, see Get help. |
When the sign-in at your company's provider fails, portierX opens a page of its own that gives the reason. Back to sign in returns you to the sign-in page. A second link starts the sign-in again and lets you pick a different account at the provider.
Heading | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
Couldn't complete single sign-on | Your provider refused the sign-in, or your session there timed out. | Go back to sign in and try again. |
No organisation found | No organisation in portierX belongs to your company account. | Ask your Organisation Admin to add you. |
Email not verified | Your provider reports the email address as unconfirmed. | Ask your company's IT. |
Something went wrong | The sign-in stopped for another reason. | Try again. If it persists, your Organisation Admin checks the connection. |
If the page says your provider sent no email address, your Organisation Admin checks how the connection is set up, see Set up single sign-on with Microsoft Entra ID.
On the sign-in page, click Forgot your password?. The page Reset your password opens.
Under Email, type the address you sign in to portierX with, and click Send reset link.
The page Check your inbox appears. Open the email from portierX and click the button in it.
If no email arrives, check your spam folder and your IT team's quarantine. Send to a different email takes you back to the form.
The link in the email opens Set a new password. portierX first checks that the link is valid.
Under New password, type a password of 12 to 128 characters, and repeat it under Confirm new password.
Click Reset password. The page Password reset appears.
Click Continue to sign in and sign in with the changed password.
If the link has expired or has been used, the page shows This link has expired or This link is invalid. Request a new reset link takes you back to Reset your password.
portierX renews your session in the background without you doing anything. When that is no longer possible, the sign-in page opens and you sign in again. How long a sign-in lasts on a device is set when you choose the organisation, see Work in several organisations with one login.
Click your name at the end of the sidebar.
Click Logout. portierX ends the session and shows the sign-in page.
After a reset, portierX emails you that your password was changed. That email and the one with the link are listed on Emails portierX sends.
After a reset, your sign-ins on other devices end. Sign in there again with the changed password.
People who sign in with their company account change their password in their company's system, not in portierX.
The page Check your inbox appears for any address. It never tells whether an address has an account.
No link goes to a disabled account or to an account without an organisation.
At most three links per account go out in an hour. Further requests in the same hour send nothing.
A link works for 30 minutes and only once.
A password has 12 to 128 characters, and both entries must match.
Without access to portierX, contact the Organisation Admin of your organisation, who adds you.
