Go to portierX

Set the locking plan legend

Change the five marks in the cells of your locking plans and their wording, or reset them to the portierX marks X, Z, M, G and I.

Under Settings, Locking Plan Legend the Organisation Admin sets which mark stands in the cells of the locking plans for each of the five relationships between a key and a cylinder, and how the legend names them. The page is titled Locking plan legend.

Also called: locking plan symbols, matrix marks, notation.

The five meanings

A locking plan has exactly five meanings; each row of the page stands for one. The portierX marks follow the German locksmith convention.

Meaning

portierX mark

Group Key

X

Central Cylinder

Z

Shared-key Locking

M

Same-key Locking

G

Locks Into

I

Change the marks

  1. Open Settings, then Locking Plan Legend. While your organisation has changed nothing, the page says Using portierX defaults.

  2. In each row, enter a single character under Mark. A space does not count, and each of the five marks is different.

  3. In each row, enter the wording under Wording, up to 40 characters.

  4. Click Save.

Reset to the portierX marks

Click Reset to defaults. The button is active while a legend of your own is saved. It deletes your legend; the locking plans show the portierX marks again, including any change portierX makes to them.

What happens next

  • Every locking plan of the organisation shows the marks in its cells and the wording in its legend above the matrix.

  • The legend on a locking plan's page is headed Legend: and lists the five marks with their wording.

Rules

  • There are exactly five marks, in a fixed order. A sixth cannot be added, and the order does not change.

  • All five are saved together. A legend that keeps only some of the portierX marks does not exist: either your five or the five of portierX.

  • A mark is exactly one character, not a space, and different in the five rows. A wording has 1 to 40 characters.

  • The legend changes the display only. What an import reads and what an export or a comparison writes stays the same.

  • Your own legend is shown to whoever may view settings, which is the Organisation Admin. An Access Manager or Security Monitor sees the portierX marks on a locking plan.

  • The Organisation Admin changes the legend. Someone who may only view settings sees the fields locked, without Save and without Reset to defaults.
