Go to portierX

Set the organisation's language, time zone and theme

Pick English or Deutsch and a light or dark theme for portierX under Appearance, and read which language and time zone portierX uses for reminder and request emails.

Under Settings, Appearance the Organisation Admin picks the language and the theme portierX is shown in. The page is titled Organisation Appearance & Settings.

Also called: display, design, dark mode, language setting.

Pick the language and theme

  1. Open Settings, then Appearance.

  2. Under Language, pick English or Deutsch. Those are the two languages the selector offers.

  3. Under Theme, pick the Light or Dark tile.

  4. Click Update Organisation Settings.

What happens next

  • portierX switches to the chosen language and theme at once, in this browser.

  • The help window that Help opens follows the language.

  • The next sign-in in the same browser keeps the language and theme.

Reminder and request emails

The emails portierX sends about keys, access requests and reviews do not follow the language picked here. portierX writes them in the organisation's email language; while none is recorded for the organisation, in English.

Dates in those emails follow the organisation's time zone. The key reminders count days and name dates in that time zone, and in Europe/Berlin while none is recorded. The access request emails name the calendar day as it was entered.

Rules

  • Language and theme apply to portierX in the browser they were chosen in. Every user picks their own; other users and other devices are not affected.

  • The Language selector offers English and Deutsch.

  • The Appearance page needs the Organisation Admin role.

  • The emails portierX sends follow the organisation's email language and time zone, not the choice on this page.
