Your organisation adds a building, or connects an access control system for the first time. The Organisation Admin does most of the work and the Access Manager can connect the system and link doors. Whoever is named Responsible, approver or reviewer then takes on their part. It starts under Locations.
The work runs in three parts, in this order.
Places come first, because doors and keys are linked to them.
The Organisation Admin creates the location, the building and its spaces, and names them the way colleagues say them (Set up locations, buildings and spaces).
The Organisation Admin sets the protection need on the building or on single spaces, with Very high for every room whose keys should be handed over only after approval (Set how much protection a space needs).
Doors and keys come from the key plan or from the connected system.
For a mechanical master key system, the Organisation Admin imports the locksmith's key plan as an XML file and confirms the class of each master key on its page (Import your master key plan from an XML file, Find a key and read its page).
For an access control system such as SALTO, dormakaba MATRIX, ASSA ABLOY eCLIQ or Interflex, the Organisation Admin or the Access Manager connects it under Integrations (How connections work in portierX, Connected systems at a glance).
The Organisation Admin or the Access Manager links every door to its space. Missing Space under Access Points shows the doors without one (Add access points and link them to spaces).
Then name who answers for the places and who decides on their keys.
The Organisation Admin names a Responsible and Deputies for the location or the building (Name who is responsible for a place).
The Organisation Admin names an approver on every Very high space and, where access reviews are run, a reviewer on the spaces (Name approvers, owners and reviewers).
For a mechanical master key system, the Organisation Admin names the system's owner and marks the master keys that need approval (Name approvers, owners and reviewers).
The Organisation Admin opens Places needing attention on the Dashboard and closes every gap it lists (Places that need attention).
Then the Access Manager gives the first people access to the spaces (Give a person access).
Every space of the building is listed under Spaces with its building.
The Protection need column under Spaces shows the level each space needs.
Under Access Points, Missing Space does not appear, because every door has a space.
Under Integrations, the connection sits on the Connected tab without a draft banner.
Places needing attention reads Nothing needs attention.
Every Very high space names an approver on its page.
